Sean Ransom
VP of Technology, BatchBlue Software, LLC
As VP of Technology, Sean shapes the direction of everything from what programming languages are used to how the end products will look and behave. An advocate of flexible, intuitive software design, Sean’s goal is to create customers who are as passionate about using our software as he is about building it.
Sean began his programming career at Amazon.com. During his eight-year tenure there, he built customer service-based applications in Java, Perl and C++. His most recent project was a phone order tool that enabled Amazon to partner with third parties, which generated millions of dollars in revenue. Sean also has a background in bioinformatics, having worked in the prostate cancer research field for the University of Washington.
A fishing-obsessed former Seattleite, Sean co-founded and/or maintains several fishing web sites including Speypages, Speyclave, and the WA Fly Fishing Forum. He’s a bit of a legend in the fly-fishing community for both his biting wit and wicked casting. Now living with his wife Michelle in Rhode Island, he spends his free time chasing blues and stripers, teaching his son the ways of the water, and enjoying his baby daughter’s monster noises.
