Pamela O’Hara
CEO & Co-Founder, BatchBlue Software, LLC
Pamela O'Hara is president of BatchBlue Software, which she co-founded in 2006. Pam is responsible for setting the overall direction and product strategy for the company. As a businesswoman and a mother, Pamela is committed to running a company that can adapt to the unique needs of both its employees and its customers to foster better organization, increased productivity and a more balanced life.
Pam's web career started in 1994, when she designed websites and managed online communications for U.S. Congressman Jim Clyburn and the Food Marketing Institute. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to co-found and manage operations at Matrix Group International, a web development firm in the Washington, D.C., area that develops web-based technologies for large and small trade associations. Her work as a consultant to small businesses further deepened her understanding of their technology needs, specifically data management tools and methodologies.
Under Pam's leadership, BatchBlue has steadily grown its customer base and partnership integrations and was named a Rising Star in CRM Magazine's 2010 CRM Awards. In 2009, BatchBlue co-founded The Small Business Web, a network of over 100 web-based applications that promote open integrations and was described by BusinessWeek as "a fundamentally different way of doing business". She is also a founder of SBBuzz, a live Twitter chat that amassed nearly 20,000 followers in its freshman year which invites small businesses to share their tech know-how. Often quoted in the media, Pam launched Batchbook at the DEMOfall07 conference, was a co-presenter at the WebInno23 program, sat on a panel at Chris Brogan's New Marketing Summit, spoke at Jeff Pulver's 140conference London, served as a panelist on SmallBizTrends' The Social Side of Business webinar, among other events. Pamela was honored with Providence Business News' 40 Under Forty award, which is selected based on career success and community involvement.
Pamela holds dual degrees in English and History from the University of Richmond. She resides in coastal Rhode Island with her husband, two daughters and one son.

A Little More About Pamela
- Favorite tech gadget:
- My Kindle, because there’s nothing quite like cuddling up at night with your favorite tech gadget.
- What are some of your favorite small businesses?:
- Dorothy Lane Market has the best brownies in the world AND was one of the first independent grocers in the country to do e-commerce. My favorite mompreneur making very cool stuff is A La Mode at alamodestuff.com. My favorite small business world championship baseball team is the Boston Red Sox. OK, so maybe they aren’t a small biz, but I had to get them on this list somewhere.
- What tab or feature would you be on Batchbook and why?:
- I’d be the “Recent Activity” window. I just love watching folks using Batchbook.
- The website you’re most likely to be on when you’re not on Batchbook:
- For work, Google Docs. It’s my new hard drive. For distraction, CNN.com. Sometimes they have news.
- Most surprising fact about yourself:
- I don’t like sweet tea. It’s a southern thing. I have to eat twice as many grits to convince folks I really am a belle.
- If not a computer geek, I would have been a:
- Political cartoonist. Make a living drawing pictures that mock political figures. Hmmm, maybe it’s not too late...
