Michelle Riggen-Ransom
Co-Founder & Communications Director, BatchBlue Software, LLC
As overseer of all things editorial and champion of the overall customer experience, Michelle ensures that the products we build and the way we communicate about them meet BatchBlue customers’ needs. Prior to joining BatchBlue, her work as a consultant for web communications helped clients connect to their employees and customers using innovative technologies such as virtual user groups, intranets, and rich media.
Michelle honed her on-line customer advocacy skills at Amazon.com, where she worked as a project manager in the Customer Service department. After four years at Amazon, she joined Washington Mutual’s Corporate Communications department developing and managing web-based communications projects.
Michelle holds a Master’s degree in creative writing from the University of Washington and a degree in communications from Boston University. Michelle is originally from Cape Cod and enjoys exploring the beach in any season with her family. Descended from a long line of birders, she's destined to become a crazy bird lady. For now, she’s named her daughter after a songbird that heralds the arrival of spring and collects things with birds on them.

A Little More About Michelle
- Favorite tech gadget:
- My Canon Rebel XT, no doubt. And my new telephoto lens (thanks Sean!).
- What are some of your favorite small businesses?:
- We would die without coffee from Brown & Jenkins Trading Company in Vermont. Also, Three Rivers Restaurant in Warren, RI. Best breakfast ever. And Fuelbelt! I am obsessed with them even though the only place I ever run is to the ice cream counter at the Daily Scoop when it opens each spring.
- What tab or feature would you be on BatchBook and why?:
- A combination of Communications and Tags, because I am a wicked hand talker. You’re apt to get hit if you sit next to me in meetings, and not just because I’m angry.
- The website you’re most likely to be on when you’re not on BatchBook:
- I write for kidoinfo.com, so there or etsy.com, wishing I was craftier. Or richer. Or both.
- Most surprising fact about yourself:
- I’ve been to the Academy Awards two times.
- If not a computer geek, I would have been a:
- Marine biologist.
