BatchBook New Customer On-Boarding
Importing Contacts from Excel (or CSV) into BatchBook
To import an Excel (or .CSV) file into BatchBook, you must first download the BatchBook Import Template, use it to format your Excel file and then import into BatchBook. Below are detailed images to walk you though this process.
Step 1:
When you are logged into your BatchBook account, go to the “Contacts” tab. On the right side of the screen, you will see the “Import a Contact” widget. Clicking the “BatchBook Import Template” link will download the template to your computer’s hard drive.
Note: When you download this template, there will not only be columns for contact info (like phone numbers and email addresses), but also columns for all of your SuperTag fields. This way you can quickly and easily import all kinds of custom data such as birthdays, start dates, and favorite caffeinated beverages!
Step 2:
If you are using an Internet Explorer browser, select “Save” and choose a location to save the template on your computer.
If you are using a Firefox browser, select “Save to Disk” to save the template file to your Desktop.
Step 3:
You will now need to open the template file you just downloaded in Excel (or another spreadsheet or database program).
Step 4:
With the template file open in Excel, also open the contact file that you want to import into BatchBook. You must update the header row from your contact file to match the exact wording of the header row in the template file.
Step 5:
Go to your BatchBook account. Under the “Contacts” tab, under “Import a Contact” choose to import a .CSV file. Using the “browse” button, find the newly formatted contacts file on your computer and import it into BatchBook.
